The power of hair is an in depth workshop created be me, Suzette Audia, in the early 90's. it was around the time the flat iron became so popular. I realized that too many women haven't got a clue of what to do with all the tools in their bathroom, not to mention this new hot tool called a (flat iron) it takes you from frizzy to fabulous in less than 10 minutes..... so, I took my blow dryer, my flat iron and all my hair products, threw them in a bag, and off I went to teach the women of the 90's everything they always wanted to know about HAIR...... but never thought to ask!!
It was so successful, that I began to teach it everywhere... corporations, women's expo's, networking meetings, even the ten o'clock News aired a spot on me!
So if you find yourself lost amongst the brushes, the irons, the gels, waxes, sprays, rollers, color boxes, you name it........and your hair still looks like you got stuck in the 80's...., then it's time to make a call.
You will walk away from this workshop knowing every secret a hairdresser keeps, or just doesn't have the time to tell you. For example:
how hot should my flat iron be?
how do i get chlorine out of my hair?
what is wrong with using at home box hair color?
what does sulfate free mean?
how do i cover gray?
are gels and mousse's really necessary?
how do i make my hair grow faster?
what color looks the best on me?
who makes the best flat iron?
what is this new service everyone is talking about?
(the keratin treatment)
The list is endless, my promise to you is that not only will you leave inspired, you will take with you the hair knowledge you have always wanted and needed!
*below you will find a true story that inspired me to create "THE POWER OF HAIR"

"About 8 years ago when the flat iron hit the "HAIR WAVES" (GET IT?) I couldn't sell enough of them. They were the hottest
tool in town and at a price tag of $150 clients were lining up to purchase the newest craze in hair care. Nowadays you can find them in every womens bathroom, they are as important as a roll of toilet paper.
My client Kelly was an SMU graduate and on her way to Duke university. An intelligent young lady with a resume filled with brains, talent, and high GPA scores, but Kelly had one issue, and to her it was big. She had curly, frizzy, unruly hair. It had been a problem her entire life and made her uncomfortable around the other students. She didn't feel pretty enough and that made her very shy and introverted. Great hair is everything to a young girl these days and Kelly felt out of place.
Kelly came to me because I could blow dry her hair straighter than any other hairdresser had ever been able to, and for her that was a special treat. She always left the salon with a big Texas smile on her face.
I introduced the flat iron to her Mom one day and told her this would make Kelly very happy and solve most of her insecurities. Mom agreed and purchased it for Kelly for her 21st birthday. I couldn't wait to hear how excited Kelly was to receive it. Well as I suspected she was thrilled, she used that iron every day for years. One day Kelly came in and told me she would be moving. She was heading to Duke University, but before they would accept her into this ivy league school she had to write a thesis. The subject chosen for her was "what is the most valuable thing found in your home"?
As she continued with her story, she said to me... Suzette, you are the only one I can tell this to. Oh boy! She had my attention now. Kelly said now don't get me wrong, I love my husband very much but the most valued thing in my home is my flat iron. It has changed my life. I have not had one bad hair day in years. I can walk proudly through a crowd of people and not feel ashamed anymore. It has given me confidence and a great deal of happiness. But I can't write a paper on my flat iron, they will kick me out of school. I tried to encourage her to be unique and different but she was afraid to let the truth out, so she followed the standard curriculum and wrote about her husband.
That was the last time i ever saw Kelly. I often wonder if the real story ever ended up on the dean's desk that year, or did she go with the obvious? Either way, we know that a simple product made of metal and ceramic had the ability to change someone's life.
So, as she walks across the stage towards the podium removes her cap and accepts her Doctorate, with sparkles in her eyes, a smile on her face and the prettiest hair Duke has ever seen, does it really matter how she got there...
I believe it does."
A quick note to say thank you for the workshop last night. i think i speak for all of us when i say we had a great deal of fun while learning alot. Thirty years of hair experience is no small thing. More respectable was your genorosity with it. I also wanted to comment on your obvious talent for public speaking. Also, excellantly written story you wrote at the end.
Sharing it added depth to your speech and turned your lesson into a great message. You clearly have a story to tell, as we all do (i believe).
Not long ago, i audited a free class by a harvard professor who teaches public speaking. He said "your success in life will depend on 3 things...1) your ability to speak, 2) your ability to write, and 3) the quality of your ideas and concepts. That being said, again i thank you for a wonderful evening.
